Cause you're republican and i'm not!

Well the state average on gasoline has gone up again! 2.51 a gallon for regular gas is the state average now. I can't keep up, this is all moving too fast for me.
A friend of mine and I were reminiscing last night about when we first started driving, at most, gas was like a buck and a half, every once in a while it would dip below a dollar.
All this “back in my day” shit makes me feel old, but it's the truth.

You go out now and buy a car, something simple, the car after tax and title would probably run you upwards of 20 grand and as soon as you take it off the lot BANG it's now worth 15 grand, WHAT THE FUCK? What happened to “American ingenuity”?

Then you have the normal maintenance on the car, oil changes, breaks, things of this nature. You have to keep it up so you can get the damn thing inspected ever 3 years or so.
Fine, people in general don't care about safety, with the small exception of their own kids, as adult was don't care anymore, we don't have to, most don't cause there's no money involved, which is another thing that pisses me off but that's a story for a different time.

Lets talk about the government, that's always a hot topic, what stupid thing did Bush say on live T.V. This week? I don't know i was stuck in New York for 15 hours, i digress.

We have federal regulators that are supposed to keep the price fluctuation to a minimum, fuck if any of the taxpayers/voters can tell. I'm starting to believe this is all a con, one big joke on the U.S. Let me explain.

We go to war, recession goes away, cause all the cushy government organizations are now hiring people to do work that they laid off a highly qualified person for only 6 months earlier
We go to war in Iraq, oil prices go down, now if you really think about it, no one bothered to complain, cause we are getting what we need cheap when the truth is, Iraq was the new kid in high school trying to pay off the local bully, don't get me wrong, i love my country, it's the people that decide it's and everyone else's fate that piss me off.

I've never liked authority, of any kind, and then all these people who make more than i do hourly come up to me every 3 years and say “vote for so and so next November” Your vote counts, it's your patriotic duty to vote!

I'd like to pick this apart if I may.

Our vote does count, to a very small extent. A group of egg-heads get together and say OK fine, this is what the MAJORITY of the state of NJ said they like and dislike, this folks is our electoral college! An archaic medium between the actual voters and the people THEY let in office, the vast majority of this state voted for John Kerry in the last election as did many other states in the union, but then came Ohio, the Florida of the central U.S., I'm starting to believe that the electoral college actually throws out our votes and then does rock, paper, scissors, best 2 out of 3, and then that bastard gets to be president.
So yes our vote does count to some miniscule extent on the greater whole, but what good does it do in the long run?

We have barrels of oil in reserve, to make fuel and other things we need in the U.S. For everyday life and we don't use it. For Christ sakes, half of the oil in the U.S. Comes from our presidents home state! He's so worried about his foreign affairs and PR we get screwed on both ends, it's one thing to not have a staff in office that can be trusted as much as they make public appearances in an off voting year, but to not even be able to trust our own president? I don't know, i quit
If it's competition he's afraid of, then call Alaska, the last time i looked they have oil and are part of the U.S.? The only time we ever hear about our bastard stepchildren are when there are some catastrophic weather conditions, which, upon further thought, make me believe the only 2 states in the union that don't have any problems are Alaska and Hawaii!
And for me ones too hot and ones too cold, maybe i need to adapt? Also it may even have something to do with your proximity to the White House itself, oh, wait, the president IS NEVER FUCKING THERE!
